With Arcade Fire UNSTAGED, American Express launched a revolutionary digital music experience — bringing together a renowned band, a legendary director in Terry Gilliam, and an unprecedented level of connectivity between artist and fan. From choosing the cameras, to a "tweet and greet" with the band, to impacting the stage design through shared creativity, millions of music fans could "be there" from anywhere.

To hallmark the night we invited fans to submit pics of their suburbs, the theme of the album. From backyards to downtowns to Russian skylines, photos came in from around the world. During the performance of their hit single "Suburbs", the photos took the stage allowing fans from anywhere to share in the moment. 

The event marked the first show in the series and was featured in Rolling Stone's Hotlist; setting the bar for live streams around the world. 

To create buzz throughout the loyal fan base, the band tapped a handful of talented friends to create original content and trailers to promote the show.
